Profile of WANG Jun:

WANG is one of the first batch of postgraduates(1978) and international students(1980) since the implementation of reform and opening up policy. He obtained his doctor degree in the major of Molecular Biology in the University of Wisconsin. WANG began his teaching in the Faculty of Medicine, Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1992, and held the post of professor in 1999. Now WANG is the CEO of Gene Biology Technology Corporation (one of the world leading companies in biocatalyst), adjunct professor in Chinese University of Hong Kong, and advisor of Hong Kong X Entrepreneurial Platform. He focuses on the research of biochemistry, molecular biology, enzyme engineering and biosynthesis. For the past 40 years, he has been working in the fields of molecular biology, R&D and industrial production of biology technology in universities, government departments and biology technology companies in China, America, Australia etc.. WANG has more than 80 patents and is the first Chair Professor in Innovative Technology in Hong Kong.

Lecture Abstract:

This lecture will probe into the similarities and differences, merits and demerits of Enzyme in Vitro production, fermentation and Biosynthesis. It uses several successful cases of industrial Enzyme in Vitro production to prove the promising prospect of this neglected or undervalued biological technology in medicine, food and other fields.
