Alumni Homecoming Celebration in the 10th Anniversary of Honors School of Jiangnan University is Held Successfully

On the morning of October 20, when the fragrance of red laurel filled the campus in the golden autumn, alumni homecoming day for the 10th anniversary of Honors School of Jiangnan University was held successfully in Honors School. Nearly 40 alumni of Honors School gathered. Wang Bing, (former Deputy Dean of Honors School), vice minister of publicity department and Bai Bing (former Secretary of Sub-Committee of Honors School), Deputy Secretary of Pharmaceutical School attended the activity together with teachers from Honors School. Yan Yu, the 2015 honor student was the host of this activity.

After watching a video of blessings from alumni around the world, alumni homecoming celebration of the 10th anniversary of Honors School began.

Wang Bing, former Deputy Dean of Honors School said that the honor students have gathered together again after ten years, and watching them is like watching the saplings planted many years ago, blossoming and bearing fruits. It is very gratified to recall the people and things about Honors School.

Bai Bing, former Secretary of Sub-Committee of Honors School and now Deputy Secretary of Pharmacy School, shared his experience of working in Honors School. In the time of getting along with students, he was both a teacher and a friend, encouraging a batch of students with his warmth bit by bit, which retained in the hearts of students. Now, looking at the students, he was deeply moved.

Wang Liang, the 2012 honor student, shared her thoughts on "the world is so big, and Honors School takes me to see it". She mentioned that with an international perspective, the school provided students with high-quality resources and created a strong academic atmosphere, which had a profound influence on her undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral and even postdoctoral studies. At the same time, Wang Liang also witnessed the changes of Honors School in the past few years. "To the south of the Yangtze river lies a college whose vast lakes are rippling with blue water. The majestic Jiulong Mountain surrounds the school, through which the murmuring water of Taihu Lake flows.”  She sincerely hoped that the school would get better and better.

Li Xinxin, the 2013 honor student, made a speech. As a student of the Honors School, she proposed, "Don't let the planning limit your steps". We should not bind ourselves, but always explore the unknown to create more impossibilities. She summed up her experience: Seize the “drive a duck onto a perch “opportunity. Most of the time, we are forced to do something, but it can tap our potential to achieve success. “Start with the best, act with the best, and end with the best” was her feeling and understanding.

Zhang Jian, the 2014 honor student told about his life experience "On the road". "Thanks to Honors School, we got together and became lifelong friends and I met my partner." Zhang Jian said. Because of his friendship with Honors School, he started his business and set up an art studio. He elaborately crafted the work of "entrepreneurship", and determined to cultivate a national aesthetic. In Zhang Jian's idea, perfection is the most beautiful standard.

In the Homecoming Day, it seems that all the alumni have returned to their homes and met their long lost relatives. They greeted each other warmly and took photos. Finally, they froze the memory in a family photo, leaving a good memory of the 10th anniversary of Honors School.

The decade of Honors School is a decade of growth and development, and a ladder for generations of students to achieve the future. Today, we gather to review the changes of the past ten years. Tomorrow we will set sail again with hope. With the vision of “academic masters, industrial talents, governance elites" as the talent training, with the goal of " outstanding leadership, global view and innovative potential " as the talent training goal, we will write a splendid chapter of the next decade of Honors School!
