On the morning of June 20, Jiangnan University 2019 Honors Students Graduation Ceremony was held in the Lecture Hall on the fifth floor in the library. Zhang Linghao ,Vice President of Jiangnan University, Jin Jian, the Executive Deputy Dean of Honors School, Zhang Jingyan, Director of the Student Affairs Department and other leaders attended the ceremony. More than 20 representative tutors, such as Professor Lin Yu, special tutor of the Honors School, as well as all the Honors School graduates of this year, participated in the graduation ceremony.

The graduation ceremony began with the solemn national anthem. Professor Zhang Linghao, Vice President of Jiangnan University, first delivered a speech with deep emotions to the Honors School graduates of 2019. President Zhang first appreciated the outstanding achievements made by the Honors School students of 2019, and made a great compliment to students’ diligent and deliberate learning attitude and their spirit of practice. At the same time, he put forward expectations for the graduates, hoping they keep in mind the spirit and mission of Honors School and continue to pursue the truth, towards the goal of "Academic Masters, Industrial Talents, and Governance Elites". Finally, President Zhang wished all the Honors School graduates happy graduation, hoping they can often pay a visit to their home university. President Zhang's deep speech received a burst of applause from the students.

Then, Professor Jin Jian announced the 2019 "Special Honor Award" and read out the recognition decision: Wang Tian, from the School of Bio-technology, Lin Haowen, from the School of Internet of Things, Ji Kaipeng and Wei Yu, from the School of Mechanical Engineering, and Wang Meijiao, from the School of Environment and Civil Engineering. These five students received this highest honor. Professor Wang Wu and Professor Jin Jian together presented the winners with the Gold Medal of Merit.

Subsequently, Professor Chen Mingqing, on behalf of the Management Committee of the Honors School, read out the decision on the award of the Honors students of 2019. In the witness of all the teachers and students, Professor Zhang Linghao and Professor Jin Jian presented every one of the Honors School students medals of honor and certificates of honor. The atmosphere of the ceremony reached a climax.

In order to show gratitude to the guidance teachers and course tutors for their whole-hearted teaching and devotion to the Honors School students, Jin Jian, the Executive Deputy Dean of Honors School, presented them the Honors School uniforms, and the students expressed their love and gratitude to the teachers with warm applause. Since then, Prof. Lin Yu, a representative professor, as well as Wang Jie, a student representative of Honors School graduates of 2019 both made a speech, and together expressed their deep blessings to the graduates of 2019 and wishes to the future development of Honors School.

It is reported that the Honors School graduates of the year 2019 have achieved gratifying results.122 of the 130 graduates in this year will pursue master’s degree in domestic or foreign universities. The rate of continuing further study is as much as 94%. All of the graduates have participated in an exchange program at home or abroad. There are 88 publications, among which, there are 33 three major research papers, and patent applications reach 42.

"Set sail from Honors Students, and build a dream of Jiangnan talent." The graduation ceremony was a complete success and ended up with a group photo of teachers and students. In the evening, the 2019 "Night of the Honors Students" graduation party was held in the South Student Activity Center. The Honors School tutors, some parents, alumni representatives and honor students gathered together, with happiness and sadness to separate, to recall the time of struggle in the Honors School, and to wish a prosperous future.
